How can I prove ownership of my Apple Watch if the receipt doesn’t have a serial number?

Hey everyone, I bought my Apple Watch from a retailer a couple of years back and I've got the receipt, but it doesn't show the serial number—only the packaging has that info. I've tried asking the store for a new receipt that includes the serial number, but they can't do it. Apple won't accept my receipt for proof of ownership without the serial number, and now I'm stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

You might want to try writing the serial number on the receipt and submit that along with your ownership proof. A lot of people have said that this works, although it might depend on the specifics of your case.

Exactly! Just make sure to write it at the top of every page you send in, that might help legitimize it.

Why do you even need to prove ownership? Are you trying to remove the activation lock or something? That might make a difference in how you approach the issue!

Yeah, I need to remove the activation lock. That’s the main reason I’m trying to sort this out.
