I accidentally deleted some important files off my computer back in November 2025, and I really need them back for studying. Does anyone have any tips on how I can recover them?

Unfortunately, if you deleted the files from an SSD, they're likely gone for good since they get permanently wiped shortly after deletion. If the files were on an HDD and you haven't used the drive much since deleting, there's still a small chance you could recover them. Just be cautious about using the drive as any new data could overwrite the deleted files. You might want to consider recovery software like Disk Drill, but there's no guarantee it'll work.
If you haven’t defragmented your drive since the files were deleted, there's a possibility they might still be recoverable, especially if the HDD is large and mostly empty. But if you've been using the computer regularly, they could be overwritten by now. Always keep a backup when you can, though!
You probably should check if you have any backups available. Most people forget until it’s too late, but restoring from a backup is usually the best route if you find your files missing. If you do have recent backups, go ahead and restore them!
