How can I recover my BitLocker drive after a motherboard change?

I've recently swapped out my motherboard while rebuilding my PC, and now I'm facing a BitLocker issue. When I boot up the computer, it prompts me for a recovery code, but I can't find my drive listed on the BitLocker website to retrieve it. Unfortunately, Microsoft support wasn't able to assist me either. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve this?

Sadly, if you can't find your BitLocker recovery key in your Microsoft account, you might be out of luck. Without that key, the data on your drive is most likely inaccessible. You can check out Microsoft's official guide for tips, but it seems like a tough situation to be in.

One option you could try is switching the motherboard back to the original configuration if you still have it. Sometimes that can reset BitLocker and let you access the drive again to save your recovery key or even disable BitLocker altogether. I've done this myself and it actually worked!
