I have a 16 GB USB flash drive that I was trying to use to create a bootable USB for Linux Mint, but it seems like Rufus has completely messed it up. My computer doesn't detect it in Explorer, but it does show up in Disk Management and Device Manager. I've tried using programs like TestDisk and Luxar to recover it, but TestDisk didn't do much and Luxar just gave me a virus. I'm looking for suggestions on how to recover my USB drive.

If it's showing as locked, it could be a write protection issue. Try looking for a physical switch on the USB drive itself, or check if you can adjust the settings using your computer’s device manager.
You might want to give BalenaEtcher a shot. I’ve heard it works well for fixing issues like this. Just make sure to check if the USB is locked before you try to use it with the software.
