I'm desperate for help here! I recently updated my old iPhone with the guidance of Apple support, hoping to back up my photos safely. Unfortunately, I lost everything, despite carefully following their instructions. Now, my old phone is cleared out, and I just realized that the pictures from my wedding and my sister's wedding are gone. Is there a chance that these photos are still retrievable from the memory card or some part of the hardware? I'm feeling really lost and would appreciate any advice.

If Apple support can't help, your best bet would be to consult a data recovery specialist. Just keep in mind that it can be really pricey, and there's no guarantee they'll recover everything.
Have you reached out to Apple support again to see what they say? It might help to get their input on this whole situation, as they were involved in the process.
Honestly, if there isn’t a backup, your chances are slim. Either check iCloud, see if there’s a computer backup you missed, or consider trying some recovery software.
Just a thought, have you checked if your photos are stored in iCloud? I know it sounds basic, but it’s worth checking before assuming they're gone. What exactly did Apple tell you to do during the update?
That's a great point! It sounds like there might be some missing info from the process Apple gave you. It’s odd they would say to update then backup without verifying what’s saved first.
That's a tough situation! If your iPhone can’t see any of that data, it might be hard to recover without spending a lot. It’s usually recommended to back up before doing updates to avoid these issues.
I get that frustration! The update was necessary for the backup, but it's strange how updating could wipe the photos. I would definitely look into recovery options if there's nothing on iCloud.

I know this is frustrating! I was talking to them on my current phone while trying to get my old one backed up. They told me to check my recently deleted, but of course, nothing was there.
