I've got a pre-built PC with a glass side panel, and I'm having some heating issues since I keep it under my desk in a small room. When I'm gaming (especially intense games like Monster Hunter World), the glass panel heats up a lot and it's uncomfortable on my legs. I've thought about replacing the glass with a metal panel, but it doesn't seem to be an option. I'm looking for suggestions on how to manage this heat better. Any advice?

You could try putting a neoprene sheet over the glass to help with heat radiating directly onto your legs. It's not a perfect solution, but it might help reduce that direct heat. You'd just need to secure it in place somehow. Keep in mind that no matter what, some heat is going to escape into your room.
What case do you have? Knowing that could help others offer better advice. You could also look at adding more fans if it’s a case that supports them, or even swapping out current ones for more efficient models if they're older.
Here’s the link to my case. It's a Midgard gaming case. I didn't buy it from Amazon, but this is exactly it: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Midgard-Gaming-Case-Including-Pre-Assembled-White/dp/B0CXYBRHPT?th=1
If your PC isn't getting enough airflow, the heat can build up and make the glass hot to the touch. Instead of switching panels, consider checking your fan layout. Make sure your exhaust fans have enough space to do their job—if they're too close to walls or furniture, that could be a problem. Also, avoid placing the PC directly on carpet, as that can block airflow. Maybe try rotating it so the exhaust doesn't blow right onto your legs. Undervolting your CPU or GPU might also help reduce heat generation if you're comfortable with that!
Great suggestions! I think the placement might be the issue since it's on the carpet. I’ll also check my fan layout to make sure they can breathe properly.
Interesting idea! I might give that a shot. I just want to minimize the heat as much as I can.
