How Can I Safely Transfer My Photos from a Swelling iPhone Battery?

I'm dealing with a swelling battery on my iPhone 13 and really want to preserve my photos, especially my 1000 live photos of my late cat. I'm not sure how to transfer them to a thumb drive or similar device. If I manage to transfer them, will they retain their live photo format? Additionally, I'm hesitant to transfer everything to a new phone because I prefer a clean slate due to limited storage space. What are my best options?

Using iCloud is another option, or transferring directly to a computer if you have that. It's really crucial to back up important data like photos, especially when devices can suddenly fail. Don’t end up regretting it later!

You could transfer the photos to your Mac or PC. Keeping so many important photos on a device with a swelling battery could lead to losing them. If your computer doesn't have enough space, consider getting an external drive. Also, think about setting up a back-up plan to avoid issues in the future.
