How can I save my iMessage texts to the cloud?

I've been trying to manage a long conversation between iPhone and Android users, and I've been copying and pasting the messages into an email. I want to know how I can keep my texts in the cloud or use an app to save them. I lost about 15 days' worth of text messages recently. Is there any way to recover those lost texts?

I had a similar problem! I didn’t realize 15 days of texts were gone until it was too late. It's baffling when you rely on your phone for important conversations. You might want to ensure your backup settings are correct moving forward to avoid losing any more messages.

If you're missing messages, check your settings under Settings > Messages and make sure 'Keep Messages' is set to 'Forever.' Sometimes, if it’s set to 30 days, older texts can get deleted automatically. Once that happens, unfortunately, there's no way to get them back.

You can easily turn on Messages in iCloud. It's a built-in feature on iPhones that lets you store your texts in the cloud. Just go into Settings, tap on your name at the top, then go to iCloud and enable Messages. That way, you'll always have your conversations backed up!
