How can I speed up hibernation on Linux to match Windows?

I've been using Linux since 2021, and I've noticed that hibernation takes about 2 minutes from the time I click hibernate until the system fully shuts down. This is a big difference compared to Windows, where it only takes around 10 seconds. Hibernation was really helpful for me, especially in school; I could work on something, hibernate before moving to my next class, and resume quickly. However, the longer hibernation time on Linux is frustrating. I have an 18GB swap partition and 16GB of DDR5 RAM. Is there any way to make Linux hibernation as fast as Windows?

For your situation, have you considered using suspend instead of hibernation? It tends to be faster and could work well if you just need to temporarily set your laptop aside. It saves your current session in RAM so you're up and running in a flash!

I would love to use suspend, but my laptop runs hot without the iGPU, so I can't keep it in my bag for too long.
