How Can I Speed Up My HP Pavilion 16t Laptop?

I have an HP Pavilion 16t af000 and it's been feeling sluggish lately. It features a 13th gen Intel Core i5-1334U, 8 GB of RAM, and an NVMe SSD with about 377 GB free. I've already reinstalled Windows 11, but no luck in speeding things up. What are some effective ways I can boost performance with my current setup? Should I consider upgrading the RAM, or is there something else I can do without opening the laptop? I'd appreciate any tips or insights!

Running newer Windows versions can be memory intensive, and with only 8 GB, you might struggle moving forward. A new laptop with at least 16 GB of RAM would make a big difference. In the meantime, you could back up your data and consider installing a lighter OS like Linux Mint, which can run really well on older hardware.

You might want to look into the brand of your NVMe SSD. If it's a knockoff, it could be dragging down performance. Sometimes, cheap drives can underperform, making your system feel slower if they can't write or read data efficiently.

8 GB of RAM is pretty much the minimum for running Windows 11 smoothly, and since your laptop has soldered RAM with no upgrade options, you're limited there. Upgrading RAM seems off the table, unfortunately.
