Hey everyone! I'm brand new to programming and have always wanted to learn it, but I've never been able to find the time. I finally have a 3-month vacation ahead of me, and I'm looking for recommendations on how to get started as a total beginner. Is it realistic that I could be working and earning money with programming by the end of this three months? Any ideas on where to start?

It’s probably unrealistic to expect to earn money in three months—most people are competing against those with degrees and years of experience. However, take this time to learn and work on something that excites you! Python is a fantastic language for beginners and can get you started on automating tasks or building small projects.

Honestly, it's tough to land a job in just 3 months, especially with the current market being so competitive. Many companies are looking for candidates with more experience, so keep your expectations realistic. However, if you focus on learning the basics, you can certainly pick up programming skills during this time. Just prepare to put in a lot of effort before you see results.

While getting hired immediately isn’t likely, you can definitely learn some valuable skills. A good starting point is figuring out a project you want to tackle or a problem you’d like to solve. This will keep you motivated! I’d suggest starting with Python, as it’s beginner-friendly and widely used for various applications.

Look into online courses such as Harvard's CS50. They offer great foundational knowledge. In three months, you probably won’t be job-ready, but you could create a fun project or two to showcase your skills. Just keep practicing regularly; the more you practice, the better you'll get!

Thank you! I'll definitely check that out.
