Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by! I'm currently a pricing analyst and mostly work with SQL, Excel, and Python (like Pandas and Numpy). I'm in my early 20s and I've been thinking about diving into software engineering to create my own apps. I often find that I pay for subscriptions just to use certain features, and I want to build apps that cater to my specific needs. I'm not looking to make a career out of this just yet, but I see it as a useful skill to have.
My main question is: is it realistic for me to learn enough to develop functional apps? I'm less concerned about the aesthetics at first, but I would like to eventually make them look nice. Also, I know Python is great for backend, but can it be used for frontend as well, or would I need to pick up another language? Thanks in advance for any advice!

It really depends on what kind of app you’re planning to create and what platform you're targeting. If there’s a Python framework that fits your needs, you might be able to use it. Otherwise, you may end up needing to learn a different language altogether.
Thanks for your input! I’ve looked into libraries for iOS, but I can’t find one that works well with Python. I’ve read that I might need to go with Kotlin, Flutter, or React. Do you think that’s correct? If so, which one has simpler syntax?
