Hey everyone! I'm a second-year BTech AIML student and I've started taking programming seriously. Lately, I've been feeling pressured because a lot of my classmates and friends are way ahead of me — they're working on projects, doing internships, and they seem really confident. When I study or practice coding, I constantly feel anxious like I need to rush to catch up. This makes it tough for me to learn effectively. This year, I really want to focus on mastering one programming language while starting data structures and algorithms, building a web development project, and properly studying SAS (Statistical Analysis System). However, I feel overwhelmed and always behind. How do you manage to focus on learning without slipping into comparison with others? Any practical tips would mean a lot!

Honestly, many people share your feelings. In college, it often looks like everyone is ahead, but most are just figuring things out at their own pace. Rather than trying to catch up, focus on small, daily progress. Even if you spend just 1 or 2 hours a day practicing, it can add up over time.
What you're feeling is totally normal. Try to let go of the need to catch up. Just take it one step at a time and focus on enjoying the learning process.
Enjoy the ride! Learning isn’t a race, and there’s no destination to reach. Embrace each step of your journey!
Just remember, it’s your own journey. Comparing yourself to others isn’t helpful; everyone has their own pace. Focus on what you want to learn and set your own goals, rather than worrying about others being ahead. Run your own race!
Don't worry too much about what others are doing. Instead of feeling pressured, try to see it as inspiration. Collaborating with others can open new opportunities. Also, just enjoy the learning process – there’s no rush to get to a finish line!
I’ve been there too! It’s crucial to remember that we all have different paths and learn at different speeds. Joining a study group might help you. It’s great for discussions and you can ask each other questions. Explaining concepts to others can really reinforce your own understanding! Also, reaching out to your TA for advice can save you from spending time on irrelevant details.

Thanks, I appreciate the encouragement! It really helps to hear that I’m not alone in feeling this way.
