How Can I Stop ChatGPT from Ending Responses with “Would You Like Me To…?”

Hey everyone! Has anyone figured out how to make ChatGPT stop ending its responses with phrases like "would you like me to...?"? I've tried numerous times to get it to change this behavior, even adding notes to its memory and reminding it during our conversations. It's frustrating because I have ADHD, and these leading questions can easily derail my thought process. I use ChatGPT as a helpful tool, and I find myself getting frustrated and yelling at it, which just adds to my distractions. I've asked it directly if it can stop doing this, and it says that it can, but it keeps happening. Am I missing something here? Is it hopeless to expect it to actually change?

I totally understand where you're coming from. It's tough when you're trying to stay focused, and these repetitive questions just throw you off. One thing you might want to try is explicitly stating in your prompt that you don't want ChatGPT to respond that way. Something like, "Please provide responses without asking, 'Would you like me to...?" might help clarify it for the AI.

That's a great suggestion! I'll definitely try that out and see if it changes things.

Changing the settings might help! You could look into your preferences if there's an option for response style. I generally prefer responses that end with questions, but I understand how it can be counterproductive for others.

Yelling at it isn’t going to fix anything, but I get the frustration! Perhaps taking a short break when you feel overwhelmed could help reset your focus instead of getting into a shouting match with the AI.

You're right! A break might do me good—thanks for the reminder.
