How Can I Stop Fullscreen Ads on Windows 10 Prompting Me to Buy a New Computer?

I'm facing a frustrating issue with my Windows 10 Home edition where fullscreen ads keep popping up, urging me to upgrade to Windows 11. My computer isn't powerful enough for the upgrade and buying a new one isn't an option for me right now. I've tried various solutions, like disabling notifications, but the ads continue to invade my screen. Here are my specs for reference: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 32GB RAM, and a couple of SSDs. Any advice on how to tackle this?

You can go ahead and install Windows 11 using Rufus if you're considering upgrading, but it might not solve your ad issue directly. Instead, focus on stopping them through the tips I mentioned above. Microsoft really just wants to get into your wallet with these recommendations, so don’t let them!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll check those settings first before considering any upgrades.

It sounds like Microsoft is being a bit aggressive with those ads! You might want to check your settings: head to Settings > System > Notifications & actions and disable any tips or suggestions there. Also, dig into Task Scheduler and look for tasks under Microsoft > Windows > Customer Experience and delete any that seem related. This should help minimize those annoying pop-ups!

Not sure if those ads are coming straight from Microsoft, but you could try using O&O Shut Up 10 to block them. It's designed to manage Windows' privacy settings and can reduce those marketing nudges. If that doesn't suit you, there's also Do Not Spy 11, although I prefer the first one. Give it a shot!
