I'm trying to burn DVDs of some YouTube lectures, but I'm encountering a lot of trouble. I'm using an external DVD drive called Origbelie, which supports DVD (R/RW). I create a menu using DVDStyler and make an .iso image, then I import that into CDBurnerXP to burn it onto a Verbatim DVD-R disc. However, none of the DVDs I burn can be played in my regular DVD player. The player works perfectly with other DVDs, including a home video made by my aunt, so I don't believe there's an issue with it. My DVD player doesn't support Blu-ray, so I'm wondering if that matters. When I burn the ISO, does it ensure the format is suitable for DVD players? I tried burning directly from CDBurnerXP but preferred using the ISO for the menu feature. I'm using footage from Big Bird's segment at Jim Henson's funeral to test my burns. Any troubleshooting tips or advice on what I might be doing wrong before replacing my DVD drive?

Before burning, test the ISO in a media player like VLC. It sounds like your ISO might not be authored correctly. You could also consider using software that can burn the DVD directly without going through the ISO process, which might save you some hassle.
Consider using DVD FAB, especially one of the earlier versions like 7 or 8. They can sometimes handle projects like this much better.
It sounds like you might not be finalizing the disc after burning. Finalizing allows the disc to be readable in standard DVD players. Make sure that's checked during the burn process.
I have the finalization option checked in CDBurnerXP. Is there something else I should do to finalize it?
I'm curious why you’re not using DVDStyler’s built-in burn feature instead of going through CDBurnerXP. Is there a specific reason for that switch?
I read online that CDBurnerXP was more reliable, but honestly, neither worked well for me.
Try playing the ISO in VLC or mount it and check if it plays. Since an ISO is a disc image, the burning process might be failing. Also, burn at the slowest speed possible for better results.
It works in VLC, and I've tried burning at 8x and 4x; I'll check for the lower speeds too.

I just played the ISO in VLC, and it worked fine. I initially tried to burn directly from DVDStyler but switched to CDBurnerXP for reliability—sadly, no luck there.
