I recently got a new laptop and I'm trying to transfer all my settings, applications, logins, bookmarks, and other data from my old laptop. Both laptops have 1TB SSDs, and I have a 1TB thumb drive that I believe can assist with this. I also game quite a bit, so I want to ensure that I don't run into any data speed issues. I think I've successfully cloned my old SSD to my thumb drive, and the file size is about 700GB, which matches the used space on my old device. What should I do now? I'd prefer not to rely on my thumb drive for booting. I'm open to any alternative methods, especially if they're free!

Just a heads up: if you clone your old laptop, make sure the new one has a similar operating system and chipset (like AMD or ARM). Otherwise, some apps might not function properly on the new laptop. If that happens, you might need to reinstall those applications to the right version.
Since you’ve cloned your drive, the next step is to clone the thumb drive to the internal drive of your new laptop. Just connect the thumb drive and use the same cloning software you used before to transfer everything to the new SSD.
Cloning isn't really ideal for moving everything to a different computer, especially if the two laptops are not identical. Cloning is more of a backup method to restore a system on the same brand/model computer. If you're migrating, I'd suggest looking into more flexible transfer options instead of cloning.

Thanks for the heads up! Are there specific applications better suited for this type of migration?
