Hey everyone! I could use some advice here. I was using Chrome to download videos via a converter and visited a few different sites to compare options. Since then, I've been bombarded with this annoying pop-up claiming that my computer has viruses. I ran a scan, which came back clean—everything seems fine. But whenever I click the pop-up, it redirects me to a site trying to sell me an antivirus subscription. My friends think it's just a scam ad, but I'm a bit concerned. What's the best way to deal with this?

You should definitely go into your browser settings and disable notifications for any sites you don’t trust. That should help with the pop-ups. Just to be safe, consider running a tool like Malwarebytes to check for any malware, even if your regular scan came up clean.
Sounds like you're dealing with scam ads that are common in Chrome. I recommend checking your browser settings and turning off website notifications. You can find instructions here: https://www.howtogeek.com/725208/how-to-turn-off-pop-up-notifications-in-google-chrome/
Thanks for confirming! Do you have a good antivirus recommendation? I'm not sure if my basic scan is enough.
Yeah, it’s just a scam ad. No need to stress about it; just block those notifications and you'll be fine.
Not a real virus, just a scam. I suggest clearing your browser cache, removing any suspicious extensions, and being cautious with sketchy converter sites.
It’s definitely a scam ad. Just ignore it and make sure your browser is up to date!
I followed your advice and turned off the notifications. The scan went well, and everything seems okay now!
