Hey everyone! I recently bought a Samsung 990 Pro SSD from a seller in France, and I'm starting to second-guess its authenticity. The text on the label looks a bit blurry, which is different from other Samsung SSDs I've seen. I've attached a photo of the drive for reference. Based on your experiences, does this seem like a normal label for a genuine Samsung 990 Pro, or should I be worried it could be counterfeit? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Have you looked at the packaging? Often, counterfeit products have noticeable differences in packaging quality. Another way to check is by testing the SSD’s performance and seeing if it registers correctly in Samsung Magician. You should definitely use the Samsung Magician software to verify if your SSD is genuine. You can download it from Samsung's official site. If it's real, you’ll see "Genuine" right next to the serial number in the drive details. Just keep in mind that while it’s very reliable for confirming authenticity, some folks have mentioned it can sometimes produce false positives. Also, what’s the return policy from the seller? It might be worth considering getting another SSD from a trusted source with a solid return policy and comparing them.
Yeah, I heard that some users had to update SSD firmware to clear up issues with fake detection. If it shows it as genuine, you’re probably good!
I wish I could check it myself, but I'm away on vacation and won’t be able to return it in time to test.
I don't have the packaging anymore, but I remember it looking authentic. Thanks for the advice!
