How can I transition from Microsoft Teams Rooms to Google Meet without replacing all my hardware?

I'm currently using Microsoft Teams Rooms set up with a Dell Optiplex PC running Windows IoT, a Logitech Tap, and a Logitech Rally Bar. We're in the process of moving to Google Meet as part of a larger shift from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace. While I'd prefer not to waste resources by replacing all our hardware, I'm looking for a way to repurpose our current setup for Google Meet. Is it feasible to install ChromeOS (or ChromeOS Flex) on the Dell Optiplex to create a Google Meet room setup? I don't have a lot of experience with managing Google Meet hardware, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You might just need to swap out your computer for a Logitech/CTL Chromebox that’s designed for their meeting systems. It’s got the specific SKU you’ll want to look for. That way, you can keep most of your existing setup without a complete overhaul!

That sounds promising! We are based in the UK, so I’ll check if we can find single units to buy instead of a whole bundle.

Definitely recommend using CTL boxes for this. I transitioned to Google Meet myself, and it's really the best approach since Google only allows specific devices for their kiosk or meeting room mode.

Out of curiosity, what’s prompting your move to Google? Are you finding it offers a better experience than Microsoft?
