I'm using Regata Linux, and while I've got everything set up nicely, I'm having trouble updating Firefox. The version I have is 115, and it's outdated from June 2023, which is causing issues with ad blockers that I need. I've tried the standard `sudo update firefox` command, but it didn't work. Is there a way to update Firefox since it seems Regata hasn't put a newer version in their app repository? Can I download and install a `.exe` file, or is there another method to get the latest version?

A good way to get the latest Firefox is to install it as a Flatpak. This runs in a sandbox with all its dependencies that don't depend on your system. You can find packages on Flathub, and many distributions have an app store that lets you install apps as Flatpaks. If not, you can set up the Flatpak environment via the command line—it's quite user-friendly if you’re already comfortable using the terminal!
You can download the `.tar.gz` package of Firefox directly from Mozilla's site, extract it, and run it from there. Regata might not be the most commonly used distro, but if they haven’t updated such a key app in years, that raises some concerns! By the way, check if your version is the latest release; it looks like Regata has Firefox 115.10.0 in their repo, but it still seems outdated. You might want to explore using Firefox as a Flatpak too.
Consider checking the Regata forums for more tailored help! They might have specific solutions for your issue since it's a unique Linux distro.
