How Can I Upgrade My TPM Chip for Gaming on My Pre-built PC?

Hey everyone! I'm new to PC building and recently got my first pre-built rig. I'm eager to play Valorant, but it turns out I have a TPM 1.2 chip and need to upgrade to TPM 2.0. I have no idea how to go about swapping it out while ensuring it's compatible with my setup. I'm willing to purchase parts if necessary and can provide my specs if needed!

Upgrading your TPM chip is usually a bit tricky. The TPM is commonly integrated into the motherboard, meaning if you want TPM 2.0, a motherboard swap is often necessary. Unfortunately, there aren't any Socket 1150 motherboards with TPM 2.0, so you'd likely also need a new CPU and RAM. It may be a bigger project than you anticipated!

So if I were to replace everything—how much do you think it would cost for a decent setup?

You can potentially add a TPM 2.0 chip if your motherboard has a TPM header, but that's worth checking first!

If you're not ready to upgrade yet, consider installing Windows 10 instead. Valorant doesn't require TPM 2.0 for Windows 10, so that could be a temporary fix while you save for a new setup!

That's a solid idea! Thanks a bunch!
