Hey everyone! I have both an iPad and an iPhone linked to the same Apple ID, and while sync is enabled, I'm running into an issue. I've got a ton of photos on my iPad, and recently they've been automatically downloaded to my iPhone, which is really eating up my storage space. My iPad is on iPadOS 14 and my iPhone is on iOS 17. I'm hoping to figure out a way to keep uploading photos from both devices to iCloud without them being downloaded on the other device, all while keeping the original size photos on my devices. Any tips?

You should update both devices first. Then, just turn on iCloud storage optimization. That should prevent this storage issue from happening again.
So there’s really no way to keep the original photos on one device while not allowing them to download on another?
