I recently bought a monitor arm that turned out to be a bit too short for my desk, which is 6 inches thick. The arm only extends 5 inches, and I don't have any power tools or the desire to buy a new arm or desk. I'm really looking for any creative solutions to make this work without breaking the bank. Help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you're kind of stuck since the monitor arm isn't rated for that thickness. One option could be to return the arm or desk for something that fits better, but if you're set on keeping them, maybe look into some creative solutions like getting a sturdy piece of wood to act as a platform for the arm? Just an idea!

That sounds like a solid idea! Just make sure whatever you use is stable enough to hold your monitor.
