I have a 250GB M.2 SSD from an old Lenovo all-in-one PC, and I want to use it with my current PC. It shows up in Task Manager, but it's not functioning properly—I've tried it with two different PCs. I suspect it might be software locked because I remembered seeing on LTT that Lenovo locks their SSDs to only work with their own products. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

It's likely that your M.2 drive is an older SATA version, while your new PC might only support NVMe drives. In that case, the SSD won’t work in the new setup. A good workaround is to buy a USB enclosure for SATA M.2 SSDs. That way, you can access your files without needing to install it directly into your new PC.
First, you should check what’s really going wrong. What does Disk Management show when you connect the SSD? If it’s showing up there but not in File Explorer or BIOS, it’s possible there’s a compatibility issue. Let me know the details so we can dig deeper!
