I'm in a bit of a pickle! I have a Blu-ray movie that I want to watch, but my portable DVD player can't play it since it's not Blu-ray compatible. I was thinking about getting a Blu-ray player, specifically a Panasonic one, but here's the catch—I don't have a TV! The only device I have is my vintage 2015 MacBook Air, which doesn't have an HDMI port. Is there a way to connect the Blu-ray player to my MacBook Air so I can watch the movie on it? My MacBook Air has two USB ports and one Thunderbolt port, so I'm hoping there's some kind of adapter or solution that could work.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a regular DVD of the movie? I mean, if that's an option, you could watch it on your portable player for now.
Understandable! Those extras can be a big draw.
Have you thought about going to Goodwill? You might score a used Blu-ray player there, and it could be a real budget-friendly solution!
Great idea! I hope they have one nearby.
If you really want to watch that Blu-ray, I'd recommend picking up a USB Blu-ray drive. It connects directly to your MacBook, and then you can use software like VLC to play it. It's probably the easiest solution!
Yeah, VLC is perfect for playing Blu-rays. You'll be all set!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely look into getting one of those.
You could also consider buying an external Blu-ray player that connects to your MacBook. Just find one that's compatible and use VLC or a similar app to watch your movie!
That's a good idea! I'll check out some options.
If you have a gaming console like a PS4 or Xbox One, those also play Blu-rays! It's worth checking if you have any of those around. You just need a monitor for the console, though.
I don't think I have any of those. Do they support 4K Blu-rays too?
Yes, they do; however, you still need a monitor!

I thought about that but the Blu-ray has extra scenes that the DVD doesn't! I really want to see those.
