I recently reset my laptop and reinstalled Windows due to some malware issues. After getting everything set up again, I started playing games like CS:GO and Phasmophobia, but my frame rates have plummeted. I used to average around 150 FPS on high settings in CS:GO, but now I can't even hit 40 FPS. I've noticed that my laptop is defaulting to using the integrated GPU for these games, while both the integrated and dedicated GPU (Nvidia RTX 2050) are running simultaneously. I've confirmed in the Windows graphics settings and Nvidia control panel that the games should run on the dedicated GPU, and I have my power settings set to "best performance." This is also causing my CPU to struggle with a high resource load. My laptop specs are an Acer Aspire A715-76G with an i5 12450H and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I've tried reinstalling GPU drivers and updating the CPU chipset, but nothing has worked. Can someone provide some guidance?

Just a thought, but is your laptop plugged in while gaming? Sometimes laptops throttle performance when they're on battery to save power, so make sure it’s connected to a charger when you're playing.
I’m having a similar issue! Have you managed to find a solution yet? It's really frustrating when everything worked fine before the reset.
You might want to check your BIOS settings. Try disabling Nvidia Optimus if you have that option, which will make the laptop use only the discrete GPU instead of switching between the integrated and dedicated ones.
