My girlfriend's stepdad recently got kicked out, and he's been petty by blocking her phone and school laptop from accessing the WiFi. She needs to connect again for schoolwork and to stay in touch with people, but he's refusing to let her back on. What can we do to fix this situation so she can get back online?

Most routers have a small reset button on the back. If you press and hold it for about 15 seconds, it should reset the router to factory settings. After that, just use the default password found on the sticker on the bottom of the router. You can also find manuals online for specific router models.
If you're not getting anywhere with all of this, I suggest calling the Internet Service Provider (ISP). They can guide you on locking down the account, and maybe even help reset it for you. They’ll have the best advice based on your situation.
You might want to try a factory reset on the router. This usually restores all settings to default, which means she can then set up the WiFi again using the default credentials. Just keep in mind if he pays for the internet, it might not work out for long before he pulls the plug again.
