I'm using an Asus Vivobook X1505VA and want to set up dual external monitors as extended displays instead of mirroring. My laptop has the following ports: 1 USB Type-C, 2 USB 3.2, 1 USB 2.0, and 1 HDMI 1.4. The USB-C port doesn't seem to support DisplayPort. I've looked at various adapters and docks, but it's a bit overwhelming. Can anyone recommend a solution for connecting two monitors?

You might want to check out this StarTech USB 3.0 Dual HDMI Adapter. It's designed for your situation and can run two monitors smoothly! Just search for it on Amazon and you'll find it easily.
A docking station is definitely your best bet here. Standard adapters usually only duplicate the display or stretch one image across two screens. A proper docking station will let you use two monitors independently for a much better multi-monitor experience.
If you're after a single cable solution, a DisplayLink dongle or dock could work well. Just keep in mind that it might have some limitations with resolution and is primarily compatible with Windows.
Thanks for this insight! A docking station seems like the way to go. Do you think I could use a USB-C docking station with my port, even though it doesn't support DisplayPort? Or should I stick with one that connects via HDMI?
