How Do I Connect My MacBook Air to My New Monitor?

I'm trying to connect my 2020 MacBook Air (running Sequoia) to a new Samsung 32" Odyssey G51C QHD monitor I bought. I picked up an 8-in-1 dual display hub from Belkin, but I'm confused about the DisplayPort (DP) cable that came with the setup. One end is already connected to the monitor, but the other end doesn't fit into my Mac or the Belkin hub. I've also tried downloading DisplayLink, but it doesn't recognize my accessory, and no prompt appears for me to allow the device. Can anyone guide me on how to set this up?

DisplayPort cables are typically used with PCs. Macs usually connect via HDMI, Thunderbolt (or Mini DisplayPort), or USB-C with Thunderbolt. You should put the DP cable aside and use an HDMI cable instead. Just plug it into the HDMI 2.0 port on your Belkin hub and avoid using the DisplayLink port altogether.

Thanks for that! I've switched to the HDMI cable, but now my monitor is only half loaded. I can see my desktop wallpaper but can't control anything on the monitor. Any suggestions?
