How do I find compatible RAM for my laptop?

Hey everyone! I'm totally new to hardware (like, I just took basic computer science in school) and I'm pretty frustrated with my laptop only having 8GB of RAM. I've decided to upgrade, and I know I need a DDR4 stick, but I'm getting lost in the details. I found two different Mhz readings—one is 1063.6 Mhz and the other 2127.3 Mhz—and I have no clue which one is relevant. How do I know what RAM sticks will work for my laptop? I've heard "Crucial" is a good brand, but I might go with Samsung since I have a Samsung laptop. Any advice would be awesome!

You definitely need more info! Just so you know, laptops typically use SODIMM memory, and it's often not a great idea to mix different memory kits. Make sure to check whether your RAM can actually be upgraded. With some Samsung models, the RAM might be soldered to the motherboard, which means you can't replace it. You can use tools like Crucial's system scanner to see if your RAM is upgradeable and what options you have if it is.

To really help you out, we need the exact model of your laptop or at least the brand and model number. Without that info, it's tough to make any solid recommendations.

I dug around a bit more, and I'm pretty sure your RAM can't be upgraded. But good luck with your search! If you find out it can be upgraded, aiming for 16GB or more will definitely help with performance!
