I'm on the hunt for the correct type of RAM for my laptop. I used a scan tool and found a compatible option, but I'm doubting its reliability. I have my laptop model handy, and I'm looking for advice on making sure I get RAM that fits my machine. Any tips would be super helpful! Thanks a lot!

The Crucial RAM scanner is pretty reliable. If you've already checked it and got a recommended option, it should be a good fit. But always double-check your laptop's specifications to make sure.

If you're unsure about the scanner, I suggest doing a manual lookup on crucial.com using your laptop's make and model. Also, check your laptop's manual for RAM specifications, like whether it can be upgraded and to what capacity. If you're feeling adventurous, you could even open up your laptop to see how many slots are available and get the model number from the existing RAM. Just be sure to get that model number and look it up online for specs!

I did run the scan and got the model number. Should I just go ahead and buy what Crucial recommended?
