How do I get AMD drivers working on Garuda Linux?

Hey Linux community! I recently switched from Windows to Garuda because I set up a PC for my living room, featuring an AMD 9900x CPU and 64GB of DDR5 RAM. I only play a few older games, so I wanted to make use of the integrated GPU. However, I'm having major performance issues. I tried running Company of Heroes using Proton on Steam, and I only got about 10 fps on low settings. It seems like there's definitely a driver issue. As a total newbie here, could anyone walk me through the steps to update or install the necessary AMD drivers? Thanks a lot!

The integrated graphics in those CPUs are really just meant for basic desktop use, so you're not going to get impressive performance—10 fps is pretty much the expected max! Generally, on Linux, you shouldn't need to install drivers manually since they're usually built into the kernel. The only exceptions are NVIDIA and some less common devices that lack good open-source support. If you're looking for better performance, you might want to consider getting a dedicated GPU, like an AMD 7600.

Got it, I might really need to look into getting a small GPU then. Thanks for the heads-up!
