How do I stop my laptop from using the integrated GPU for gaming?

I'm struggling with an issue on my Acer Nitro 5 laptop. My integrated GPU (iGPU) keeps getting picked over my dedicated GPU when I try to play games. This means that I have to manually choose the correct GPU for each game, and sometimes the option isn't even available to select! Unfortunately, I can't disable the iGPU in the BIOS because my model doesn't provide that option. What can I do to force my games to use the dedicated GPU instead?

If you're using an AMD Radeon RX 560X, you might also want to check if the AMD software has settings to manage graphics performance. Sometimes, just setting it there can help override the system defaults. Also, ensure your drivers are up to date; outdated drivers can mess with GPU selection.

First off, can you tell me which dedicated GPU you have? It's important to know what you're working with. Usually, in Windows settings, you can specify which GPU to use for specific applications. Try going to the Graphics settings under System settings, and from there, you can add your game executables and set them to prefer the dedicated GPU.
