I'm trying to upgrade my HP laptop by replacing the old M.2 SSD with a new SATA SSD. The laptop has started to slow down significantly, and even after a full Windows reinstall and wipe, it won't boot up. I have the SATA SSD ready, but I'm not sure how to install it properly. Could someone guide me through the process?

Check out this link for a visual guide! It looks like you might need an additional cable for your SSD. There's a clear setup with the SSD port; just make sure you have everything ready. It can really help to see what others have done in videos!
If there isn’t enough space for both, consider using a DVD drive SATA caddy to fit the SSD. It’s a quick fix; you’ll lose the DVD drive but can swap in the SSD without any fuss. I’ve done that with a couple of my laptops and it works great!
I already have a slot specifically for the SATA SSD, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Before you dive in, make sure your laptop actually has room for the SATA SSD. M.2 and SATA are different types, so you need to confirm that the space is available for the SATA. You don't want to end up with hardware you can't use! Let me know if you need help double-checking that.
Yes, I confirmed there's space—I can see the slot. I'm just trying to replace the faulty M.2 with the SATA.

Thanks for the link! I’ll look up videos specific to my laptop model for step-by-step guidance.
