How Do I Transfer My SSDs from My Old PC to a New One?

I'm building a new PC and I want to reuse my SSDs from my old computer. I'm okay with wiping them if necessary since I can back everything up beforehand. My old PC is running Windows 10, but I plan to upgrade to Windows 11 on the new setup. What steps should I follow to transfer the SSDs? If anyone has video links that explain the process, that would be great too! Thanks!

Are you looking to physically reuse the SSD, or do you want to clone it to a new one? If it’s just a physical transfer, you can hook it right up to your new motherboard and it should work fine.

For transferring your boot drive, make sure to back up any important files (not programs) first. Once you install the SSD in the new motherboard, do a fresh install of Windows 11. You’ll need to create installation media on a USB drive from Microsoft’s site. For your other storage SSDs, you can simply move them over after you’ve set up Windows 11 on your boot drive—no special steps needed for those.
