How Do RAM Speeds and Latency Impact Gaming Performance and Stability?

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a pair of 2x16GB Teamgroup T-Force Delta RAM sticks for about $530 AUD, which seemed like a steal compared to other models priced between $650 and $900. However, I just noticed that these sticks are 5200MHz with a CL40 latency. I've come across a lot of advice suggesting that I should have gone for at least 6000MHz RAM instead. As this is my first PC build, I'm a bit anxious. Am I making a mistake with my purchase, or is this RAM still decent?

Honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about the 5200MHz speed. When the price difference is that significant—over $100—you’re probably still good. The performance difference is minimal for gaming, especially when you consider overall system build costs. So, you're likely fine with what you got!

The impact of RAM speed and latency can vary by game and engine, but for the majority, it really isn't noticeable. As long as your RAM isn't the absolute slowest, you should be good to go. Just focus on getting your build set up; you've got the capacity, which is more important!

In gaming, the amount of RAM is much more crucial than speed. Having 32GB is plenty for most games, and you'll likely be fine with 5200MHz. Performance differences in FPS from RAM speed alone are often negligible unless you’re running very specific software. Enjoy your new sticks!
