I've been fascinated by AI for a long time, but I also have my doubts about its future. I believe that the best way forward for AI and humans is to have a variety of separate AI systems for different tasks. My work in social geography doesn't seem directly threatened by AI, but I still feel anxious about the potential for AGI to replace humans entirely, or worse, lead to our extinction. What do you think? How do you feel about the notion of AI taking over jobs and society? Are you at peace with the idea of UBI or does that sound like a dystopian future to you?

I think we should just enjoy the journey. We live in a unique time where we can witness the evolution of civilization, whether that’s positive or negative. It's kind of insane to think about how lucky we are to be part of this historical moment. I'm choosing happiness even when things feel out of control!
Absolutely! We can't really change the trajectory, so why not make the best of it?
