I've been a loyal user of 1Password for years, but I've been running into some issues on both my Mac and PC lately. I've heard that Apple Passwords has improved significantly and is more feature-rich than it used to be. I'm particularly interested in how it performs on Windows, as I use Firefox, but I'm considering trying Chromium if the extension for Firefox doesn't pan out. My password management needs are quite basic—mostly just auto-fill and new password generation. I'd appreciate hearing about any cross-platform experiences with Apple Passwords, especially since I'm trying to cut down on my subscriptions and am looking to potentially drop 1Password.

I used 1Password ages ago, and it needed a browser plugin to auto-fill, which was a hassle. Apple’s Passwords handles that automatically in Safari, but I’ve found that some sites still don’t support it. Also, keep in mind that Apple Passwords doesn’t have a dedicated PC version, so switching might leave you needing another option. I’ve been using mSecure lately, and while it's moved to a subscription model now, the basic version is still good and offers solid security features.
I've been using Apple Passwords and it works just fine for me! For the few things it doesn't handle, I've switched to Access, which is secure and compatible across different platforms. Honestly, I ditched 1Password after their subscription model changes—it just didn't sit right with me.
I actually use both—iCloud Passwords for work and 1Password for personal stuff. Lately, 1Password has been acting up in Safari, and I can't tell if it's their problem or if Apple is kind of pushing people towards the Passwords app. On Windows, I still think 1Password is a better choice, but if you're mostly on Mac, Apple's solution gets the job done.
For me, Apple Passwords is a no-go on Windows. Every time I open the browser, I have to enter a pin to link it to the iCloud app, which is super annoying. Apple doesn’t seem to prioritize Windows features much, so I'd think twice if that’s an important factor for you.
