How Does Upgrading to DDR5 Affect My Choice of Components?

Hey everyone! I've been asking around about upgrading my PC recently. Here's my current setup: I have an ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboard, an AMD RYZEN 5 3600 CPU, an EVGA RTX 2060 SUPER GPU, and 64GB of G.SKILL Trident DDR4 RAM (2x32GB). I'm a bit confused about how switching from DDR4 to DDR5 RAM impacts component choices. If I decide to get a 5070 GPU and upgrade my CPU as well, will I need to replace my RAM too? Can I stick with my current DDR4? If not, what are my options for upgrades that would still let me use my existing RAM? I appreciate any insights!

Your CPU plays a big role in the RAM you can use. Since you're on a Ryzen 5 3600, it only supports DDR4. If you upgrade to Ryzen 7000 or newer, you’ll need DDR5. Intel's 12th to 14th gen offers some flexibility, supporting both DDR4 and DDR5, based on the motherboard you choose.

Got it! So, if I get the Asus Tuf 5070, which CPU would you suggest? Also, if I get a better power supply, can I keep my current motherboard?
