Struggling to Install Linux on My New Lenovo Yoga 7 with Windows 11

Hey everyone! I recently got a Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 that came pre-installed with Windows 11, and it has the Pluton security chip. I've been attempting to install Linux Mint using a USB stick, but when I boot from the USB, it fails to detect anything and just hangs there until I restart. I've tried both the standard 'Cinnamon' version and the edge version, but I get the same issue. It's been almost ten years since I last used Linux, so I might have missed something important. I've done what I can to disable the security features in the BIOS, but I'm still stuck. Any ideas on how to fix this?

This issue is actually pretty common. Here are some troubleshooting tips:

1. Make sure secure boot and fast boot are disabled in the BIOS/firmware settings.
2. Check what software you used to create the USB installer. Ventoy is a good option to try out.
3. Test the USB stick on another computer to ensure it was burned correctly.
4. Try different USB ports or remove other USB devices connected.
5. Use the F12 key (or the relevant one for direct booting) to select the USB drive at startup.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

To be fair, I think it said something more like 'Something has gone seriously wrong' as well, but yeah. I'm checking secure boot and need to verify about fast boot too. I initially got the error on a different laptop too, so it might be the USB or the ISO that I'm using. I will try Ventoy and get a fresh ISO to see if that helps. Thanks for the tips!
