I'm considering getting a Gen 4 SSD for my gaming PC, which has an RX 9070 graphics card. I've noticed that the 7000 MB/s models are quite a bit pricier than the 5000 MB/s versions, around an extra $20 to $30. Can anyone share their thoughts on what speed is actually necessary for gaming?

It doesn’t really make a big difference between Gen 3 and Gen 5; most people aren’t likely to notice much. Just grab the cheapest Gen 3 or 4 NVMe SSD from a trustworthy brand. Brand-wise, TeamGroup usually has some great options!
For most users, picking any NVMe SSD will do just fine. The jump from HDD to SSD is way more noticeable than from Gen 3 to Gen 5. Just go for the best value you can find and don’t sweat the speed too much!
Honestly, there's very little difference in real-world use. Both Gen 3 and Gen 4 SSDs will perform fine, and IOPS is what really counts rather than those peak speeds. Just grab whatever SSD you can afford and it’ll work great!
For gaming, it really doesn’t matter much. Most games won’t notice a speed difference between a Gen 3 and a Gen 4 SSD. Just pick one that fits your budget!
The speeds you're seeing are mostly sequential ratings, which might not mean much for gaming. Any NVMe SSD should be good enough. Aim for a reliable brand with a decent warranty, and you should be all set!
I found a Silicon Power UD90 that's really cheap. Is that a decent choice?
