I'm considering upgrading from my Intel i7-10700K to the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and I want to know realistically how much more FPS I might gain. My current specs include a 3080 Ti, 3600 DDR4 RAM, and I game at 1440p on a 144Hz monitor. I primarily play CPU-heavy games like Path of Exile 2, World of Warcraft, ArmA Reforger, and I'll be diving into BF6 soon. Should I go for this upgrade now, or wait for the next-gen 6000 series and a new CPU architecture?

Upgrading to the 7800X3D should give you a noticeable FPS boost, especially since the games you play tend to be CPU-intensive. A lot of users report up to a 50% increase in FPS when moving from the 10700K to the 7800X3D according to benchmark tests. Your 3080 Ti is still a strong GPU, so it won't bottleneck you much with this new CPU.

I looked into it too, and the performance difference is pretty significant. Plus, going for AM5 means you could upgrade the CPU again later without changing your motherboard or RAM, which is a great long-term investment.
