I'm new to DDR5 RAM and recently installed my new Trident Z Royale DDR5 modules on my ASUS X870 motherboard. I noticed that inserting into slot 2 required quite a bit of pressure to click into place, while slot 4 was much easier. Is it normal for DDR5 to need more force than previous generations, or am I doing something wrong?

Make sure you opened both tabs on the RAM slots before seating the DIMM. It can be snug, and sometimes it takes a decent amount of pressure to get it clicked in the first time around. As long as the notches line up and the tabs click back into place, you should be good to go!
Yeah, the first click always feels like you're applying too much force and might break something! Just check that notch alignment again, and as long as everything locks in right, you’re fine. It's just how tight those slots can be initially.
