I just upgraded to a new computer to play the latest Doom game, so I'm looking to sell my old rig. I built it about 5-6 years ago, and I'm curious what a fair price would be for it. Here are the specs:

- Motherboard: TUF Gaming X570-Plus
- Hard Drive: Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
- RAM: 2x16GB G.SKILL Trident Z Neo DDR4 (F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC)
- GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming (10GB GDDR6X)

What do you think I should sell it for?

Honestly, your setup can still run pretty well, especially if you pop in something like a 5800X3D. The RAM you have is solid too. But if you're looking to get a price, I'd say aim for around $450 and be willing to accept offers starting at $400. That's a reasonable ballpark for a solid gaming rig like yours.

It's tough to say exactly, but generally you see used electronics going for about 75% of their retail price in the first year, then around 50% the following year. For a machine that’s five years old, you might struggle to get a fair price. Personally, I usually grab older machines like yours for around $200.

I’d suggest pricing it at about 50% of what it was originally worth. So if your build was top-end when you made it, maybe start around $450. Just keep in mind that as time goes on, the value drops a bit, especially for a 5-year-old PC.

In the current market, aiming for around 450 USD seems fair. The RTX 3080 still holds its value, and since your PC has solid specs, you could definitely get buyers interested. Just be ready to negotiate a bit!
