Hey everyone! I'm currently an RHCSA/RHCE and have been thinking a lot about my career path. Initially, I was keen on getting into DevOps, but I've realized that focusing on mastering one tool might be more beneficial in the long run. Right now, I'm diving into Kubernetes (K8s) and aspire to become an OpenShift architect, or as I like to call it, a 'Kubestronaut.' I also want to grasp the fundamentals of other tools like Git, CI/CD, etc. I'm currently working as a Linux/Ansible system admin. Any insights on how to grow in this direction would be greatly appreciated!

If you aim to specialize in OpenShift, you should definitely check out the Red Hat Academy for their learning path. You’ll want to complete at least courses 180, 280, and 380. Plus, if you have your RHCE and earn 5 certifications, you can add RHCA to your title. Just keep in mind that mastering Kubernetes doesn’t mean you’ll master OpenShift automatically—it’s a different beast, and you'll need to work with it specifically to see the benefits.
The best way to get good at K8s is to immerse yourself in it. Land a job where you work with Kubernetes clusters daily—that’s the real deal. It gives you a hands-on experience that really upgrades your skills. Sure, setting up your own cluster at home is nice, but managing it in a production environment is a whole different world!
Totally agree! It's tough to replicate the scale of a production system at home.
Just a heads up—please refrain from using 'Kubestronaut' again. Sounds kind of odd!
I'm struggling to land a K8s job myself. They always want previous experience, which is frustrating!
