I'm trying to switch the photos on my new-to-me iPad that I inherited from my mom. I've changed the Apple account successfully and can see my texts and calls, but the photo gallery is still filled with my mom's pictures. I'm unsure how to replace these without keeping her photos, especially since they're taking up a lot of storage. Any tips on how I can make this iPad feel more like mine?

It sounds like the iPad wasn't fully reset when you got it. Make sure to follow the steps in the Apple support article to erase and reset it completely. After that, you'll be able to set it up fresh with your Apple ID and clear the old photos.
Glad to hear you got it sorted out! Enjoy using your 'new' iPad! It really makes a difference when it's set up just for you.
Just to clarify, are you looking to get rid of the existing photos entirely? If you just want to make new albums, you could airdrop photos from your mom's phone, but if you're not planning to keep any of those old ones, a reset is your best bet.
