I'm looking to upgrade to the Drop + Sennheiser PC38X Headset since my old one stopped working. I want to ensure I connect the headset cables correctly to my motherboard to avoid any damage. The PC cable has two 3.5 mm connectors, and my motherboard has a "Mic" and a "Line Out" port that are both black, plus one port on the front of the case. I also noticed there's an SPDIF OUT next to the MIC port, but I'm not sure how everything should be hooked up. Any guidance would be appreciated!

You're correct! The red/pink cable is for the microphone, and the green one is for audio output. Just plug them into the respective ports on the motherboard, and you should be all set! If you have a single port for both, using a combi jack adapter should work.
If your motherboard has separate ports, you should connect the mic (red/pink cable) to the "Mic" port and the audio (green cable) to the "Line Out". If it’s just one combined port, a 3.5mm splitter might be necessary. Just make sure to double-check which is which since the ports are black. Good luck!
Thanks for clarifying! Since the ports are black, it would've really helped if they had color coding. But I'm glad to know how to connect them correctly.
Great! So just to confirm, I can safely connect the green to "Line Out" and the red to "Mic", right? I appreciate your help!
