I need to send in my non-working iPhone for repair, and the technicians are asking me to disable Find My iPhone. I tried to do it online, but it says it could take a month to process. Is there any way to turn it off right away? I'm worried about sending it in with Find My still activated, and I also can't erase my data since the phone won't connect to the internet. Can someone assist me?

You can remove the device from your iCloud account through the website, and while it'll still show the location for 30 days, this will at least remove the activation lock. That should be enough for the repair team to finish their job. Just remember, the only way to completely turn off Find My is directly on the device itself.

If you have another Apple device that’s up-to-date, you can try disabling it from there. You can also manage it via the iCloud website, though I know there have been issues with it stating a delay in removal. Just be persistent!

Actually, it’s not the Find My feature that’s taking a month—it's likely that you either didn't have your Apple ID password handy or your trusted phone number wasn’t set up properly. If that’s the case, you’re stuck in account recovery, which is what takes the time. But if you sort your Apple ID issues, you'll avoid this whole mess.
