How to Disable Microsoft Defender on Windows 11?

I've been trying to turn off Microsoft Defender on my Windows 11 Home system, but I've hit a wall. I've followed all the usual steps—editing the registry, using Group Policy Editor, and checking Task Scheduler—but nothing seems to work. My system is running on an Intel Core i7-8700K CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 video card, and I've got 16 GB of RAM. I'm really hoping someone can help me figure this out! Here's a link to a video showing the issue I'm facing.

Hey! Before you disable Defender, could you explain why you want to do this? It's really important to have some form of antivirus running. If you're having issues with apps being blocked, there are usually ways to resolve that without turning off the whole system's protection.

You can run other antivirus programs alongside Defender, and they usually take over the protection. Just make sure you have one that's reputable!

I get that some apps are being blocked, and that can be super frustrating! If it helps, I've used a .reg file from Microsoft a while back that toggles Defender on and off. If you look around on the Microsoft site, it should still be available. I've saved it for clean installs. It might solve your issue!

Make sure you have administrative privileges on your account. You might find this video helpful to guide you through the process: [Watch this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40pE2rmhXTo). It'll show you how to disable it properly if that's what you really need to do.
